Srinagar: Following killing of militant Hizbul Mujahideen, authorities have imposed curfew across the Kashmir Valley on Friday as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.
“Curfew has been imposed in all 10 districts of Kashmir Valley today as a precautionary measure for maintaining law and order,” a police official said.
District Magistrates issued the orders for imposition of curfew in their respective areas of jurisdiction on Thursday evening, an official spokesman said.
The spokesman said no vehicular movement will be allowed except for medical emergency vans.
The mobile telephone network will also be snapped around this midnight to prevent rumour mongering, a police official said.
The mobile Internet services are already suspended in the Valley since Saturday.
Violent protests erupted in the state after the killing militant Burhan Wani by security forces in an encounter.
