After Sunil Gavaskar, Bishan Singh Bedi, Harbhajan Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Sandeep Patil have come down heavily on India’s performance at the Lord’s, now Gautam Gambhir criticised the Indian cricket team for their ‘lack of fight’ during the second Test match against England at Lord’s. India is 2-0 down in the ongoing five-match series England.
“The way we lost the Test match was very disturbing. There was no fight shown by the Indian batters and yes the conditions were a little difficult in both the innings for them, but you don’t expect this team to bundle out in literally three days. They should have shown some fight in the second session to take the game into the final day and anything could have happened from there on,” Gambhir.
India slumped to 130 all out in their second innings, as the Indian batsmen were unable to perform against a disciplined England bowling attack and the hosts won the match by an innings and 159 runs. with James Anderson taking his 100th Test wicket at Lord’s en route to four for 23, with Stuart Broad’s four for 44 featuring two wickets in two balls. India lost the first Test in Edgbaston by 31 runs.
“India can make a comeback, but it is always difficult to make a comeback to win all the three games. They still have an opportunity to think about drawing the series. They can look to win 2 Tests out of the remaining 3 and then look at the way forward. They should take one Test match at a time,” he Added
