HYDERABAD: After the allegations to get admission into MBBS under the sports quota with fake credentials resulting in an inquiry, now the misuse of 1 percent National Cadet Corps quota for getting medical admission comes to light.
According to Indian Express reports, documents furnished under the RTI (Right to Information) Act have revealed that between 2011 and 2018, as many as 234 students got admission to medical course through the quota reserved for NCC cadets illegally by just being the guest cadets in the Republic Day parade.
According to a Government Order, such bogus/non-trained cadets are not eligible to get admissions under quota reserved for NCC cadets.
As these ‘Guest Cadets’ who are non-trained and are allowed to directly participate in the parade, many see this as an opportunity to get medical seats by using NCC certificates, money and recommendations from influential persons whereas the genuine ones are being left out.
