After requesting PM, Amarinder Singh now says “Won’t Be Going To Wagah” to receive Abhinandan

NEW DELHI: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh won’t be going to Wagah to receive the Indian Air Force pilot and Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman as Pakistan is set to release him today.

Mr Singh had yesterday offered to receive the pilot when he returns to India after being captured in Pakistan, Mr Sing said that he has not heard from the centre regarding this and that is why he won’t be going to Wagah to receive the pilot.

The Pakistani foreign affairs ministry spokesperson had stated that the Wing Commander Abhinandan will be handed over to India at the Wagah border today afternoon, around 3 to 4 pm.

There has been an aerial engagement between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Wednesday in which Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman landed across the Line Of Control after Indian fighter jet MiG-21 Bison was shot down by Pakistan.
