New Delhi: After losing Kairana Lok Sabha seat and Nurpur assembly seat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called on BJP president Amit Shah here at BJP headquarters. Nothing has been disclosed as to what was discussed in the meeting but it is understood that both the leaders might have discussed the move to counter grand alliance of Congress, SP, BSP and RLD in Uttar Pradesh. It must be noted that when BJP faced defeat in Kairana and Nurpur by-elections after Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections, even the BJP leaders raised voice against the Yogi Adityanath leadership.
Amidst internal war in BJP, Yogi-Shah meeting assumes importance. According to reliable sources, several senior leaders were also invited in the meeting to discuss Uttar Pradesh political situation. According to sources more than by-elections, party president discussed 2019 elections and discussed the future strategy. Interestingly this time BJP dreams of 360 seats while it is difficult for it to grab even 160 seats in the current situation.
