After immolation bid, UP cops finally register gang-rape case against BJP, RSS members

UP cops have finally registered a gang rape case against 15 people including a former BJP MLA, a RSS pracharak in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh and others today.

Earlier on 5 November, a woman attempted to self-immolate herself and her two daughters in front of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s residence but was stopped by the police.

On asking she alleged that many political leaders from the ruling government have gang-raped her mother and sister.

One of the alleged accused in the case is a relative of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh including former MLA Gajanan Singh, RSS leader Bhanupratap Singh, Satyendra Singh, and BJP’s Rae Bareli district president RP Singh.

Despite many complaints regarding the crime, the Police did not take any action in this matter which led the woman to take the extreme step.

After the woman attempted suicide outside CM’s residence, the Rae Bareli police have finally registered the case against 15 people.

Speaking to NH, PRO of Rae Bareli unit, Sub-inspector Yadunath said, “We have registered the complaint as per the version of the woman. We have filed the case against all accused.”

The video that has surfaced on the internet shows the woman accusing the police of not filing the case. “The case is not being registered because BJP MLAs are involved in the gangrape of my younger sister and mother. My father is no more. My brother was murdered. FIR has not been registered in any case.”

She also alleged that she had given a written complaint to the Rae Bareli police several times, National Herald reports.

“The police officials share meals with these leaders and don’t pay heed to our requests. We are forced to leave the police station. No one is listening to us. So, we tried to immolate ourselves,” said the woman.
