After Australia and Canada now attacks on Indian in Russia

Moscow, June 25: After Australia and Canada, attacks have now been reported on Indians in Russia with a businessman badly beaten up and robbed by unidentified men in broad daylight here, a media report said today.

The Indian businessman, whose identity has been withheld by the police, was knocked down and beaten by unknown attackers near the Moskva River embankment in the heart of the town yesterday, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.

The assailants took away his bag that contained cash. The victim was later taken to a hospital and released from there after being given first-aid, it said.

Moscow has been witnessing a spate of robberies as thousands of migrant workers in neighbouring CIS countries have lost their jobs due to the economic downturn.

Recently, at least three famous Russian actresses were robbed in a row by the so called “bag snatchers”.
