Pakistan’s flamboyant allrounder Shahid Afridi today moved from Karachi to Lahore to begin his preparations to regain form and confidence before the World Twenty20 in India next year.
The national T20 captain will be based in Lahore with his family until the World T20 in a bid to focus completely on cricket.
Afridi has lived in Karachi since childhood and has played all his cricket from Karachi with his family business also based in the city.
“I just thought this is the time to simply focus on regaining my best form and preparing the team well for the World T20,” he told reporters at a function in a school before he departed later in the day for Lahore.
“In Lahore I can train properly at the National Cricket Academy and focus completely on cricket without any distractions,” he said.
