Afridi to lead franchise in SLPL

Karachi, May 12: Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has accepted an offer to lead one of the franchises in the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL), The Dunya News reports.

e has signed a three-year contract with SLPL and has reportedly been offered 35,000 U.S. dollars in the inaugural season. The amount will be double in 2012.

Afridi said it would be a great opportunity for the Pakistan cricketers to feature in the league.

The other Pakistani players who will play in the league include Shoaib Akhtar, Misbah ul Haq, Umar Gul, Umar Akmal and Abdul Razzaq.

The first edition of the SLPL will be held at the end of this year.
