Kolkata: In the name of hatred, Afrajul was brutally murdered in Rajasthan. After the murder, the murderer also posts a murder video and defies a particular community in a hateful voice.
Gulbahar Bibi, the widow of Afrazul is still in shock after hearing her husband’s death. Even before she could recover from the shock, on December 7 she saw the video of her husband’s murder.
Afrazul is the sole bread winner of his family. He is survived by wife, an ailing mother and three daughters.
She said that “He (Afrazul) was the breadwinner of our family. God knows how I will be able to deal with the situation now. I am unable to do any work due to my physical condition.”

Mr. Afrazul Khan, worked as a mason in Rajasthan for the past two decades and had a daily income of about Rs. 400 to Rs. 500 and often struggled to support his family. Apart from the house they live in, they do not have any other property or land.

Ms. Bibi said she received Rs. 3 lakh from the West Bengal government as announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Ms. Bibi said that last time that Afrazul came home was in September and he was normal as usual. “He never said that anyone was threatening him in Rajasthan and neither did he ever mention the killer Shambhu Lal Regar.”

Afrazul’s daughter Rejina Khan said that even more than “jobs and financial help” they want capital punishment for Raigar. “We want him to be hanged,”
The incident has created discontent against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) among the locals. “We don’t think they are bothered about the incident at all. The top BJP leaders are still silent on the murder,” said few locals.
