New Delhi: Shambhulal Regar, the man accused of brutally hacking and burning alive a Muslim migrant alleging ‘Love Jihad’ in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand is all set to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
According to a report published in News 18, Shambhulal may contest from Agra as a Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena (UPNS) candidate.
UPNS, a lesser known political party has offered Rajsamand lynching accused a ticket on Monday and even claimed that he has accepted the offer to fight Lok Sabha elections from Jodhpur jail.
Speaking to News18, Amit Jani, National President of UPNS, said, “The Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena has decided that for the Agra Lok Sabha seat, the party’s candidate will be Shambhulal Regar. He will contest the election from inside Jodhpur jail, where he is currently lodged,” he said.
Jani said that they want a Hindutva face and there can be a no better candidate than Shambhulal.
“We want only Hindutva faces to contest elections on our party’s tickets and there can be nobody better than him,” the report quoted Jani as saying.
Last year in December, Shambhulal brutally kill 48-year-old Mohammed Afrazul, who hailed from Malda district of West Bengal.
In the terrifying video, which appeared on social media on December 7, we got to see the height of dehumanization in which Afrazul was hacked to death and then set ablaze by the accused who termed the cold-blooded murder an act of revenge against “Love Jihad.”
