JAIPUR: According to the charge sheet filed by Rajasthan Police, Shambulal Regar, the accused who was caught on camera hacking Mohammed Afrajul to death, had linked the killing to “love jihad” so that his “illicit relations with the woman he called his ‘Hindu sister’ would not be discovered.
According to Hindustan Times reports, the charge-sheet submitted in the court of the chief judicial magistrate Rajsamand on Friday, stated Shambulal linked Afarajul’s death to love jihad, in order to hide his illicit relations with 20-year-old woman.
The gut wrenching video on December 7, 2017 showed the 36-yer-old Shambulal killing Afrazul, a labourer from West Bengal with a sickle and subsequently burning him alive before dousing kerosene over him has sent shock waves worldwide after the video went viral on social media platforms.
In the video, Shambulal can be seen saying, “Jihadis should leave the country, or else they will meet the same fate.”
