Faryab [Afghanistan]: At least two policemen were killed after Taliban fighters overran a district headquarters in Afghanistan’s Faryab province on Sunday, said an Afghan official.
According to the Dawn, provincial police chief spokesman Abdul Karim Yourish said that the assault on the Lawlash District government headquarters was launched in the façade of darkness late Saturday.
Earlier on Thursday, three policemen were killed and one was injured in an ambush by the Taliban, while the policemen were patrolling in the country’s Logar province.
Reports suggested that Taliban had stolen one of the vehicles of the policemen and escaped from the area.
