Afghan national held for giving fake visa

New Delhi, August 13: An Afghan national was arrested here for allegedly cheating a man by giving him fake visa to visit his country for employment, police said today.

The arrest of the man, identified as Safiullah, came following a complaint filed by one Pulveleen Jose.

Jose had contacted Safiullah, who was staying in a hotel in Ballimaran in central Delhi, for obtaining visa for his friend Manoj Adhikari, a Nepalese national.

Safiullah allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh for getting the visa and on August seven, Jose had handed over the passport and the money for getting the visa. Safiullah give the “visa” on August 11.

Jose then went to Afghanistan Embassy to verify it where he was told that the visa was fake.

During the investigation, Safiullah was contacted through the complainant on the pretext of getting another visa and was arrested.
