Telangana Advocates’ JAC today filed a complaint with Saifabad police demanding to file a SC, ST Atrocities case against TDP deputy floor leader Revanth Reddy for his comments against a TRS Dalit MLA N Odelu in the Assembly.
In the complaint, the JAC alleged that Revanth Reddy insulted Odelu by asking him to ‘lick’ the shoes of ‘Dora’ referring to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. It also argued that TDP deputy floor leader violated the norms of Constitution in the Assembly during the budget session. Such comments are aimed at insulting the entire Dalit community, they argued. The JAC felt that the remark was made deliberately to tarnish the image of Dalits in the Assembly. As the comment is tantamount to belittling the Dalit MLA, the police should immediately take action against the ‘erring’ TDP MLA, they demanded. (NSS)
