New Delhi, February 21: An emotional BJP veteran L K Advani today hailed the poetic skills of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said though he can recite poems, he can never write one.
Addressing a gathering at the release of a collection of poems by senior parliamentarian Najma Heptullah, titled ‘Impressions’, Advani said had Vajpayee been in good health, he would have requested Heptullah to invite him for the launch of the book.
“I can recite poems by Vajpayee… I have not written even a single piece of poetry, though I have written a lot,” Advani said.
He also recited a couple of stanzas from Vajpayee’s poems.
Advani said Bollywood star Aamir Khan, who was present on the occasion, would have been a better choice for the launch of ‘Impressions’.
