New Delhi: BJP President, Mr. Amit Shah wanted to seek the blessings of Mr. L.K. Advani before filing nomination from Gadhinagar, Gujarat. However, Mr. Advani did not pay heed to his wish.
Mr. Advani also turned down the appeal of General Secretary of BJP, Mr. Ramlal who wanted to seek a letter from Mr. Advani that he volunteered not to contest election.
A senior leader of BJP said that Mr. Amit Shah desired Mr. Advani’s presence at Gandhinagar at the time of nomination.
Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi who had won Lok Sabha seat in 2014 had written a letter to the voters of Kanpur that he is not contesting. He did this when he received a message from Ramlal that he is not being considered for ticket.
Political observers opined that PM Modi might call on Mr. Advani to pacify him.
