Advani asks BJP MPs to expose Liberhan report inaccuracies

New Delhi, December 01: Leader of Opposition L K Advani today asked the party MPs to peruse the Liberhan Commission report for contradictions and highlight the inaccuracies both in and outside Parliament. Addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, Mr Advani said there were several inaccuracies in the Liberhan report on Ayodhya demolition tabled in Parliament last week and a deeper study would show how hollow was the report which had indicted 68 BJP prominent leaders including himself. The findings could not be discussed in Parliament because the Hindi translation was being prepared for the MPs and only the English version was tabled in Parliament. The Members should expose how hollow the report was in Parliament and their constituencies, BJP Deputy Leader Sushma Swaraj told reporters after the Parliamentary Party meeting. The meeting, among others, was attended by BJP President Rajnath Singh and Mr Arun Jaitley, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha. The party, Ms Swaraj said, would ask for a clarification from the Government on the issue of Chinese obstruction to build roads on Indian territory in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting took exception to J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah describing the Kashmir issue as an international matter as J&K is an integral part of India. It was unfortunate that the Chief Minister was seeking to make Kashmir an international issue, it was of the view.
