According to reliable sources adulteration in food items is on the rise in the city. Products made of milk are on the top of the list. According to a report adulterated ghee is sold in the name of pure ghee resulting to the health problems.
According to an authentic report received by Siasat daily, adulterated ghee is mostly sold at kirana stores, medicine shops, fried items’ shop and milk shops, in which dalda, palm oil, fats, and CEC flavours (for the essence of pure ghee) are used in preparation.
Unconfirmed sources have also revealed use of crushed animal bones in the preparation of ghee.
