‘I have committed a great sin in my life, I have ruined my life, I repent on my wrongdoing, falling prey to the Satan’s trap I lost the wealth of faith. Love marriage snatched my parents, siblings and relatives from me, Now I only seek forgiveness before Allah and hope that He will forgive me. These are the words of 31-year-old Nusrath Begum, resident of Khammam, who had married to a Hindu youth Naga Raju. Both had conducted court marriage in Khammam. The couple got married on August 16, 2003. They have 3 children. For 10 years Nusrath Begum led the life like a Hindu.
Nusrath Begum’s brother told that although the family had severed ties with her, she returned to them 6 months ago after being harassed by her husband. Now she regrets for her wrongdoing and wants to leave the non-Muslim lover forever. However she has lost her 3 children who are still with her non-Muslim lover. She wanted to renew her faith (tajdeed-e-iman). She recited Kalima-e-Shahada before Dr. Mufti Hafiz Syed Farooq Muhiuddin, of Qaza wal Ifta, Hyderabad.
