Admit Wards In Govt Schools To Inspire Common Man: Mahmood Ali

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali here on Saturday opined that the elected representatives should stand as a model to the people by admitting their children in the government schools.

Speaking at a seminar on “Education to All” organized by Panchayat Raj Teachers Union (PRTU) the Deputy Chief Minister regretted that though good quality of education was available in the government schools, parents were favoring to admit their wards in corporate private schools. If the elected representatives admit their children in the government schools, it would be an inspiration to the common people to do so, he felt. He also expressed dissatisfaction over the overweight of school bags of school children. He made it clear that the TRS government was ready to fulfill all the promises made to the people during the elections.

Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy said the education system in Telangana State would be changed to improve the quality of education. He said the new curriculum would be like preparing the student in tune with the competitive world. The quality of education in the government schools was much better than that of private schools, he added. Some private schools were moulding students only in the angle of annual examinations, he added.

Jagadish Reddy said the “KG to PG free education” is the dream project of the TRS government. He suggested to the educational institutions to teach the students discipline in addition to the curriculum.

TRS leader and Rajya Sabha member Dr K Keshav Rao said school dropout of the girls was more compared to the boys. It was also high after Class VII. He stressed the need to bring changes to the curricula of the school education.

MP Jithender Reddy and MLC Sudhakar Reddy were also present.
