Administration in state collapsed for six years, says DL

Hyderabad, January 30: The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Dr D L Ravindra Reddy, on Saturday said that the administration in the State collapsed in the last six years and there was immediate need to restore it. He will also raise the reopening of CBI case on the murder of TDP leader Paritala Ravi in the light of new revelations coming to light in the recent times.

Speaking to mediapersons in his chambers in the Secretariat, Dr Ravindra Reddy said that the administrative system, including law and order, remained collapsed in the State in the last six years due to “sycophancy” factor. Indirectly referring to Kadapa former MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the minister felt that it was not correct to provide security to the man, who was facing allegations in a murder case. By violating rules, earlier some people amassed huge wealth. He came to know that Mydukur former MLA was sold to the Congress rebel leader for Rs 14 crores, he added.

Reacting to the adverse comments of his cabinet colleague on the administrative system and ministers, Dr Reddy said that Dr Shanker Rao might have talked with anguish that the ministers were not reacting to the criticism against AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, by some persons in the State.

“I have also received threatening calls, but I strongly warned them with one or two words. I will also advise Dr Shankar Rao to do so. We are fighting against rich persons, some MLAs and former MLAs. The threatening callers get money from their leaders by showing list of phone calls and saying that they warned the opponents”, Dr Ravindra Reddy said. He made it clear that he would not be cowed down by such threatening calls in the “Rowdi Rajyam”.

Asked about the recent news about involvement of Jagan in murder of TDP leader Paritala Ravi, he said that he did not go through the report. The CBI can reopen any case, if concrete evidence emerged, he added. He would raise the matter of reopening of CBI case at the Cabinet meeting, he added.

When questioned as to why other ministers were talking about corruption and irregularities during YSR regime, he clarified that he was talking on the matter because he has full information about the issues like EMAAR imbroglio.

Reacting to rumors that the son-in-law of the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy, may contest as a Congress candidate in by-elections in Pulivendula constituency, Dr Reddy said that no signal was received from the Congress high command in this regard.

When questioned about the comments of the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, against the Seemandhra leaders, he questioned as to why KCR did not utter a single world in Parliament on the demand of separate Telangana State even though Telangana statehood was in Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the UPA government. He also questioned the strategy of Mr KCR in going to elections frequently by resigning to posts. He reminded that the people have voted for us to work for five years to solve their problems. The strategy may personally benefit the TRS, but not the people, he added.

On the demand of Mr KCR for resignation of Congress MLAs and MPs from Telangana region, the Minister said why the ruling party MLAs and MPs should resign from their posts as Telangana statehood issue was seized by the party high command.
