The annual fish medicine for asthma patients distribution began late Monday night at the Exhibition Grounds at Nampally here.
Bathini Harinath Goud said ‘our family members have been administering fish medicine for the past 170 years. Thousands of people are administered the medicine each year. The medicine will be distributed till 10:30 pm tomorrow.’
They insert the medicine into the mouth of Maral fish and this live fish is then slipped down the throat of a patient. Besides Telangana State, people from other states have also thronged to Exhibition Grounds to get fish medicine.
