Four adjournment motions, including one on the acute power shortage in the State, moved by the Opposition parties in the Assembly on the opening day of the monsoon session were disallowed.
As soon as the House assembled, Speaker Nadendla Manohar informed the House about the adjournment motions – on the power shortage moved by the TDP; demanding a resolution on formation of Telangana State by the TRS; Fee reimbursement by the YSR Congreess Party and MIM and celebrations on Telangana Liberation Day by the CPI and Independent member Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy.
When the Speaker disallowed the adjournment motions, the Opposition members stormed on to the podium in protest. (NSS)
