Adilabad, February 18: Demanding immediate stoppage of DSC appointments in the Agency area, the Adivasis attacked the ITDA office in Utnoor in the district on Thursday.
The Adivasis went berserk and hurled stones at the office building. They also ransacked the furniture in the office and destroyed glass panes. The ITDA employees used tables as a cordon to save the district Collector, Mr Venkateswarlu, who was present in the office, from the invading missiles.
As the situation remained explosive, the police intervened and chased away the protestors by resorting to lathi-charge. The situation remained tense until the reports last came in.
