Adieu to AP High Court judges & staff; files, documents sent in ten buses

Hyderabad: The much-awaited process of shifting of High Court judges, advocates and staff began here today and the advocates of Telangana bid an adieu to their Andhra counterparts. The authorities pressed ten buses into service to transport files and other documents belonging to the AP State.

Chief Justice of Telangana State Justice Radhakrishnan will be sworn-in at Raj Bhavan at 8.30 am on Tuesday while newly-appointed Chief Justice of AP High Court Justice Praveen Kumar will be sworn-in at 11.30 am in Vijayawada. The AP government made all arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice at Indira Gandhi stadium in Vijayawada town.

AP Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Puneta issued orders to CRDA to arrange requisite furniture at the temporary High Court building. He also asked the IT department to arrange requisite number of computers for the HC. The protocol director of the state has been asked to provide accommodation to all the HC judges at Novotel hotel.

Meanwhile, some advocates from Rayalaseema region protested in front of the High Court building demanding immediate cancellation of the Presidential Order dividing the united State High Court.
