Mumbai: Amid of the ban on Pakistani artists Karan Johar is thinking of replacing Fawad’s face with actor Saif Ali Khan through technology in his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Fawad Khan plays a small but pivotal role in the movie and another big issue that the filmmaker faces is that his leading ladies’ characters, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, are Pakistani residents Saba and Alizeh.
However It has come to know that Anushka and Aishwarya’s characters, are being changed as they are not from Pakistan but another country.
“Karan’s film releases on Diwali, but because of the anti-Pakistani wave that is sweeping through India right now, he is facing a dual dilemma it is too late to replace Fawad, but his female leads play Pakistani women. So what he is planning to do is tweak the script a bit and work it in such a way that they are no longer Pakistani citizens, but belong to another country.” said the sources.
When Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) banned the Pakistani artists Karan said in a statement that banning Pakistani artistes is not the solution to curb terrorism. He said. “I understand the anger and the anguish that surround us and I empathise, my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can justify this terrible feeling of terror. Then you are faced in a situation such as this (asking for ban on Pak artistes like Fawad and Mahira). If this was truly a solution, one would take it. But this is not a solution. I don’t believe it is. The larger forces have to come together and sort the situation and this cannot be banning talent or art.”
But now replacing Fawad Khan is too late.
