At the instance of Mr. Mohammed Ahmedullah, Minister for Minorities Welfare, additional budget allocation has been proposed to Finance Dept. The proposals sent by the Dept. of Minorities Welfare suggested that a sum of Rs. 13.20 cror be provided for the year 2012-2013 in the budget.
The Dept. of Minorities Welfare suggested that in view of the orders of A.P. High Court’s ban which has been lifted, it becomes necessary to provide grants for the repair of Mosques and graveyards. This grant was not released during the past three years. A sum of Rs. 5 crore is also sought for electronic mapping and survey of Wakf properties. The Dept. of Minorities Welfare stated that these items of expenditures were not included in the budget for the year 2012-13 which can now be included as additional grants.
