Additional Broadband Kiosks In Srikakulam: Kruparani

Union Minister, Dr. Killi Kruparani, had a meeting with the senior officers of BSNL regarding Broadband Kiosk project of BSNL. The broadband was increasingly becoming indispensable in every citizen’s life today, as it has access to voice, data, video and online applications like health, education, agriculture, weather, e-commerce and so on. The people, who afford to have broadband facility at their homes, have easy access but the poorer sections still don’t have any access to internet. The government was committed to ‘Right to Broadband’ to every citizen in the country.
Therefore, it was decided to set up broadband kiosks in the country so that poorer sections of the society can avail the facility easily. The Union minister reviewed the status of the project for setting up of broadband kiosks in every erstwhile blocks of the country and Srikakulam and instructed the officials to carry out the work expeditiously.
As of now, there are 54 Broadband Kiosks already opened in Srikakulam. She directed the BSNL officers to take immediate action for setting up of the remaining 39 Broadband Kiosks in Srikakulam first and that too within three months from now. (NSS)
