In a swift punitive action, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Shandilya today axed Additional DCP Gangi Reddy of Madhapur PS for brutally kicking and punching a short-film director Yogi Kumar Muthyala on Sunday. He ordered Gangi Reddy be sent to VR.

It may be mentioned here that short-film actor Harika lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Yogi Kumar was harassing her. When the accused Yogi abused the complainant in his presence during interrogation, Additional DCP Gangi Reddy kicked him and delivered punches. During the DCP in action, some unidentified persons uploaded the incident in the social media, which became viral. Shocked by the DCP’s uncalled for action, several netizens censured the entire Police department with sarcastic comments wondering whether is this the friendly police of Telangana State. They asked who have authorized the police to thrash people indiscriminately.
CI transferred for misbehaviour
In another indecent police act, Jawaharnagar police Inspector Uma Maheshwar has been transferred for resting his leg next to a woman on the cot when she was writing a complaint at her residence against her husband in a murder case.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwath ordered an enquiry into the incident. Hyderabad Range DIG has been asked to inquire and submit a report to the Commissioner. Vanathalipuram DI Chalapathi has been posted as Inspector of Jawaharnagar police station.
