Hyderabad: Senior Telugu actor Jayaprakash Reddy passed away on Tuesday morning after he collapsed in the washroom at his residence in Guntur after a heart attack.
Jayaprakash had been living in his hometown since March after the coronavirus lockdown. Known for his self-deprecating roles as a villain, comedian and character artist, Jayaprakash, who was fondly called JP in film circles, carved a niche for himself on the silver screen of Telugu. Born into a middle class family in 1945, JP made his debut in 1988.
It was the actor Venkatesh ‘s super-hit film Preminchukundam Raa that gave JP a much-needed break and cemented his place as a comedian in the industry in 1997. JP was equally famous for his Rayalaseema slang. He has been acting in over 100 Telugu movies.
