Nagarjuna sagar, October 31: Bind-over cases were booked on Saturday against Telugu film hero Navadeep and five of his friends for breaching the rules and venturing into the Krishna near Anupu, the erstwhile ferry point on the right bank of the river 35 km upstream of Nagarjuna Sagar.
Navadeep and his friends were stranded in the middle of the river as their boat ran out of fuel while returning to Anupu.
When the news was flashed by TV channels, the Macharla police rushed to Vijayapuri South, arranged two private boats and brought the visitors back to the bank and safety.
It was found that Navadeep and his friends had not taken permission from the AP Tourism Development Corporation for their cruise.
Navadeep, along with Swathi, Priyanka, Swetha Reddy, Aron and Simkil (the last two are foreigners), arrived at Anupu this morning and travelled by a boat which they had brought from Hyderabad.
While their car drivers and the actor’s personal assistant stayed back at Anupu, the group ventured into the river and travelled 15 nautical miles to reach a hill in the middle of the river.
While returning they found the boat’s fuel tank empty.
The actor then alerted his PA who went to their rescue by another private boat.
According to Macherla inspector of police Moses Paul, bind-over cases were slapped on the actor and his friends because they violated the rules by venturing in to the river without permission from APTDC officials and using a private boat.
It was not the first time that the young actor was caught violating rules.
In May last he was booked by the Hyderabad police for drunken and rash driving.
He behaved rudely with electronic mediapersons when they were taking visuals of the incident.
