Action will be taken if loans not sanctioned to farmers: AJC

Additional Joint Collector B Ramarao has warned the officials of the agricultural department of stringent action, if they showed negligence in sanctioning loans to the eligible tenant farmers. Talking to media persons here today, he said strict warning was issued to all the assistant directors of agriculture department during the wireless set conference that all the tenant farmers who received loans last year should be renewed and get fresh loans sanctioned by the concerned banks this year also. Even for the freshers, he said efforts should be made for getting loans sanctioned before August 15 and added the progress in sanctioning of loans would be reviewed at the weekly meeting to be held with bankers and officials of the agriculture department and action would be initiated against the concerned mandal agricultural officer and assistant director of agriculture, if they lagged behind.

He said the bankers were also requested by the Collector to sanction loans to the tenant farmers possessing the loan eligibility cards complying with the guidelines issued by the state level bankers meeting. UNI
