The Hyderabad district Collector K. Nirmala on Friday said that administration has finalized 1,200 applications following verification for regularization of encroached government lands smaller than 125 square yards for BPL families.
Addressing the media, Ms. Nirmala informed that so far 64,000 received under GO 58 out of which 13,000 applications have been verified. Verification has been completed in nine mandals in the district, and in remaining mandals it will be completed by March 10.
Following the field-level verification, the final approval for ‘pattas’ is being given by a committee comprising Revenue Divisional Officers (RDO) and Tehsildars of mandals. However, the distribution of pattas will not begin before completion of MLC elections to two graduate constituencies in the State, by the last week of March.
The Collector also stressed that applications under GO 59 will not be accepted after February 28. Action will be initiated against encroachers who fail to get encroachments regularized, she said.
