Hyderabad, July 31: Mr. Syed Mohammed Ahmedullah, Minister for Minorities Welfare, Govt of India said that arrangements are being made to computerize the Wakf documents. Action will be taken against both the buyers and sellers of Wakf Properties.
He said that if any Wakf Property is registered in somebody’s name, it has no value. Wakf Board is a Semi-autonomous body which is answerable to the Govt. Nearly 150 acres of valuables land has been given on lease illegally. Step are being taken to get back that property.
The minister further said that very soon, a meeting of the high level officials will be converned to review the situation.
He said that during the year 2001 the budget of the Minorities Dept. was Rs. 36 crore which has now been increased to Rs. 301 crore in the year 2011-12.
Mr. Ahmedullah laid the foundation stone for marriage hall in Vijayawada.
