Bhopal, June 27: The Madhya Pradesh BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar took party MP Narayan Singh Kesri’s comment seriously over distribution of tickets after party’s debacle in the Lok Sabha polls in the state, said party state Vice-President Maya Singh here today.
Addressing a press conference after the party’s two-day office bearers’ meeting here, Ms Singh said action might be taken against Mr Kesri after a discussion in the party forum.
Although she did not spell out clearly about the mode of action, but did not rule out about disciplinary action against Mr Kesri.
When asked about the party’s stand to other leaders, who also aired comments over the BJP’s below-par performance in the parliamentarian polls, Ms Singh said the state party high ups might consider it.
Significantly, Mr Kesri, a Rajya Sabha member, recently told media that nepotism prevailed during distribution of ticket in the Lok Sabha polls, overlooking the dedicated party workers. He also alleged that the former state Chief Minister Kailash Joshi, who won from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, was not even acquainted with the party activists.
Meanwhile, the controversy between the state Cooperative Minister Gauri Shankar Bisen with Satna district’s Cooperative Bank Manager Kamlakar Chaturvdi in which the former reportedly targeted a particular caste, was also discussed in today’s meeting. The party leaders suggested Mr Bisen to avoid such remarks in the future, party sources said.
The meeting also discussed about the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha polls, the sources added. However, Ms Singh parried the queries in this regard.Ambala, June 27: Seventeen women, travelling in a maxi cab to mourn the death of a relative, were injured when the cab rammed into a tree on Sadhaur-Doosarka road leading to Chandigarh-Delhi highway.
