Hyderabad, July 15: The government says it is ready to implement GO No.91 in order to restrict private schools from collecting huge amounts as capitation fees.
Minister for secondary education D Manikya Vara Prasad, in reply to a question posed by TDP member G Govardhan during the Question Hour today, urged all opposition parties to implead in a case which was pending before the High Court, and to narrate the problems being faced by parents.
He said the government was trying for vacation of the stay order given by the court on a petition filed by private school managements.
All the arguments were over and the case was reserved for judgement. “As soon as the expected favourable judgement comes, the government will initiate steps to check the practice of collection of huge amounts beyond what is permitted by the law,’’ he added.
The TDP member demanded that the government to bring in a new legislation to restrict private schools from collection of huge amounts as capitation fees.
