Acting CJ asks scribes to follow ethics and shun sensationalism

Acting Chief Justice N. V Ramana on Sunday released Telugu version of a book comprising articles and stories penned by senior journalist and Deputy Editor of “The Hindu” late R J Rajendra Prasad.

The two books in English were translated into Telugu by Dr J. Chennaiah titled as “Dateline Andhra” and “Veechina Pranthiya Pavanalu” at Birla Planetorium Auditorium here.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Ramana said he was happy to release the books written by late Rajendra Prasad, who was a veteran journalist. He exhorted the journalists to ponder over their working style as most of them were not following professional ethics for the sake of sensationalism due to the unhealthy competition among the media groups. He requested the Press Academy and senior journalists to take initiative and impart proper training to reporters in giving news stories for betterment of the society and the country.

He also said he would provide access of Judicial Academy and Judicial Library to the journalists in order to gain legal knowledge.

Mahaa TV chairman I. Venkat Rao, Visalaandhra editor K. Sreenivas Reddy, Indian Journalists Union secretary-general Devulapalli Amar and others were present.
