Act tough against colleges if floated rules: Narasimha

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha today asked the officials of Task Force on Engineering Colleges to act tough against the colleges which flout rules and regulations. Talking to reporters after convening a meeting with the Task Force officials here, Mr Rajanarasimha said the inspection of colleges would begin from tomorrow.

He said inspections would be conducted based on the information provided by these colleges to the court and government and for implementing AICTE norms in all colleges in letter and spirit.

He said criminal complaints would be booked against the colleges which flout norms and collect donations in the name of college development fee. The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the parents not to pay any donations to colleges and asked them to recollect donations if they have paid earlier.

He asked the colleges to fill ‘B’ category seats on merit after issuing a notification and warned that the recognition of college would be cancelled if the NRI quota seats were allotted to the non-NRI aspirants. Responding to non-fixing of fee in 44 colleges, he said the government would follow court’s directions in this regard. He asked the colleges to place all details on the website including scales of teaching and non-teaching staff. UNI
