Acquitted Muslim youth await fulfillment of promises

Hyderabad, November 19: Muslim youth who were facing terror charges in Makkah Masjid, Lumbini park and Gokul chat blast cases and have been acquitted, await fulfillment of government’s promises.

National Minority commission recognized the injustices and atrocities meted out to them and also that they had been falsely implicated and had recommended that the government of Andhra Pradesh should give full compensation to them.

In its 6 point recommendation issued on July 9, 2011 the commission not only recommended compensation for them but also recommended to take legal action against the guilty police officials who acted against the innocent youth by implicating them in false and baseless accusations.

It also recommended to pay the compensation by deducting the amount from the salaries of guilty police officials and also provide employment to innocent Muslim youth.

However nothing has been done by the state government so far in this regard. The commission also recommended 3 lakh compensation per head and issuance of good conduct certificate to the acquitted youth.

Also no action has been taken against the guilty police officials instead it has been learnt from the reliable sources that some of them have been elevated to the higher posts.
