Hyderabad: An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) working in Warangal district of Telangana, who was recently diagnosed with swine flu died today at a private hospital here.
Wardhannapet ACP M Durgaiah Yadav (51), who had tested positive for swine flu last week was shifted to a hospital here from Warangal.
“The ACP who was suffering with ill health for the past few days has died today while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad,” an official release said.
Yadav had joined the police department as a sub-inspector in 1992 and had got promoted as Deputy SP this year and assumed the charge of Wardhannapet ACP on June 21, it said.
Warangal Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu and senior police officials have expressed their condolence to the family members of the deceased police official.
