A chemical factory worker, who received severe burn injuries in a recent acid storage tanker explosion, died today at the GTB hospital in Delhi.
The blast took place at a chemical factory in Rajendra Nagar industrial area of Sahibabad here on January 8.
As the blast took place during lunch hours, most workers escaped but Harpreet Singh, who was present at the site at the
time of the blast, suffered severe burn injuries.
Harpreet, a resident of Shahdara, was rushed for treatment to GTB hospital in East Delhi where he succumbed to
his injuries today, SHO Sahibabad Upendra Yadav said.
Yadav said an FIR has been registered under section 304A of IPC (causing death by negligence) against factory owner
Sardar Gyan Singh, a resident of Naveen Park.
Harpreet’s body has been sent for postmortem, the SHO said, adding that efforts were on to nab the absconding
factory owner.
