In Prakasam district, a maniac named Rama Rao allegedly threw acid on a widow as the latter refused to have sex with him. This incident took place in Vankayalapadu village under Inkollu mandal of the district.
The victim Prameela, who suffered severe burns all over her body, was rushed to the government general hospital at Chirala. Doctors said both the eyes of the victim were damaged and she suffered 40 percent burns. As her condition turned critical, she was shifted to the government general hospital at Guntur. However, some residents of the area alleged that the widow had illicit relationship with the culprit.
It is learnt that the accused resorted to the gory act as the woman failed to fulfill his carnal desire. (NSS)
