Chandigarh, November 30: A 19-year-old girl working as a sales service associate with a mall in the Industrial Area, Phase 1 of Chandigarh, was critically injured in an acid attack near the Sector 28 lights late last evening.
The incident took place at 9.20 pm, when the victim, Neha Thakur, a resident of Burail, was walking along with a colleague, Nirmala, when two unidentified youths on a motorcycle threw acid on them.
While Nirmala had a narrow escape, Neha is battling serious burns at the Government Medial College and Hospital, Sector 32. Nirmala called the police and a police who rushed the victim to the hospital. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
