Achieve targets, Collector tells officials

Vizianagaram, March 25: The progress on 20-point-programme till January was satisfactory when compared to other districts in the state, said Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah.

At a review meeting with officials on Thursday, Mr. Verabrahmaiah said that during 2010-11, 2.04crore man-days were created by spending Rs.260.60 crore under MGNREGP. Under RWS scheme 201 habitations were covered against a target of 209, but the achievement under ISL scheme was a mere 28 per cent. Against target of 34,000 ISLs, 8,761 were built and the Collector asked officials concerned to improve the percentage.

Though the progress on IAY and rural housing scheme was 109 per cent, in urban areas it was only 87.4 per cent.

The targeted hospital deliveries achieved was 85.8 per cent (32916 deliveries against the target of 41,865). With regard to rural electrification, the Collector said that only 10 colonies were provided power connections against the target of 44 colonies.

Complementing officials, he asked them to achieve the targets, and once again put the district on top of the list in the state.
