Agra: In a school of Jamunapar in Agra, students prefer to remain thirsty due to lack of toilets.
According to the news published in India Today, school students wait for the school bell to ring so that they can rush back home.
One of the students, Tamanna (14) and her friends, Raksha, Kajal, Manisha are also facing this problem daily.
It is also reported that in a school of Jamunapar, there are 90 students in Class 5, out of which 40 are girls. They neither drink water nor take lunch due to lack of toilets in their school. Boys also face the same problem.
Despite knowing this, school authorities are helpless.
Talking on this issue, Raj Veer Singh, in charge of the school said that female staff also faces a similar problem. He further said that the problem was communicated to Block Education Officer, however, no action has been taken so far.
Similar problems are faced in many schools in Jagdishpur, Eidgah, Nagla Padi, Quila and other localities, India Today reported.
Speaking on the lack of toilets, Brajesh Dixit, Secretary, UP Primary Teachers’ Association told that in the circle, around 500 schools lack toilet facilities and nearly 800 schools face drinking water problem.
Secretary also said that this problem continues as officials do not show any interest.
Responding to this issue, District Magistrate of Agra, Gaurav Dayal assured to address the problem.
