Following the directions of High Court, suspended IAS officer and the prime accused in Emaar Properties case B P Acharya on Thursday surrendered before the court.
The court remanded Acharya to judicial custody till Friday. Following the directions of the court, the police have shifted Acharya to Chanchalguda Jail.
Meanwhile, the court also rejected Acharya’s petition seeking Special Category for him in the prison.
Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh High Court cancelled Acharya’s bail granted by the CBI Special Court on March 16 following a petition filed by CBI. The court had observed it was not proper to grant bail when the investigation was still on. (INN)
