Accused turns approver in Jagan case

Srinivasa Reddy of the Hetero company, who was named an accused in the illegal assets case against YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has turned an approver. The CBI has named him as prosecution witness no. 107 in the case.

According to the information, Srinivasa Reddy told the CBI that apart from two villas, Jagan had also purchased his Akash Estates company. In his statement, he said that two villa sites admeasuring 4080 square yards were purchased by Jagan for Rs 2.11 crores. He also said that Vijaya Sai Reddy, accused no. 2 in the case approached him with the proposal of Jagan to purchase his Akash Estates and villas. He said that Y S Bharati of Keylon and B Ramesh Babu were named purchasers of the property, sale of which was effected on October 12, 2009. He said that he received Rs 10.24 crores for the sale of villa sites and Akash Company. He also told the CBI that the cheques given to him were signed by Y S Bharati (wife of Jagan). (NSS)
