Moga, July 15: A local court of additional sessions judge S K Aggarwal on Tuesday acquitted both alleged accused-Chhinderpal Singh and Kirpal Singh as the prosecution failed to establish its case in the court in an alleged rape case of a Dalit woman.
The case was registered by the police on May 19,2008 when the victim of Ghalkalan village took on extreme step of removing her cloths in public on the alleged inaction of the police though the crime was allegedly committd by the accused on May nine 2008.
According to the prosecution, the victim was residing separately from her husband and one of alleged accused Chhinder Pal was related to her and was living with her.
But on night of May nine 2008 Chhinderpal Singh and his friend Kirpal Singh allegedly committed rape on her and escaped.
In her first complaint to police the alleged victim did not mention that any rape was committed and rather she alleged the accused tried to molest her young daughter.
Both the alleged accused were on bail.
