Bhopal, July 11: The additional district and sessions court granted bail to Satyanarayan Sharma alias Sattu – an accused in the alleged gangrape of a woman that occurred in a moving car last month here.
In a related development, the Chief Judicial Magistrate M P Tiwari yesterday rejected police’s plea for discharging Sattu in the case saying that the matter was serious.
The CJM also reprimanded the police for failing to arrest two other accused in the alleged gangrape case.
The police had moved an application for discharging Sattu under Section 169 of CrPC saying a case was not made out against him.
Additional District and Session Judge Sarita Singh yesterday granted bail to Sattu on a personal security bond of Rs 10,000.
The accused got a clean chit from the victim who did not recognise him during an identification parade.
